EliteLevelD3 Launcher v2.6.1
=====================

The version shows at the bottom of the launcher window and at the end of every line the launcher
writes to the hosts file ("# EliteLevelD3 launcher v2.6.1").

What you need
- A Diablo III 2.8.0.99920 game folder (the one with x64\Diablo III64.exe).
- The account name and password the host made for you on the EliteLevelD3 server.

Setup (once)
1. Unzip this folder anywhere, for example C:\EliteLevelD3 Launcher.
2. Run EliteLauncher.exe and allow it to run as administrator. If Windows SmartScreen says
"Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
3. Click the gear (top right) and set "EliteLevelD3 game location" to your 2.8.0.99920 folder.
The server address is already filled in (131.93.176.209). Click Save.
The green dot at the bottom left means the server is up.

Playing
- Click Play Game! and log in with your EliteLevelD3 account.
- When you close the game, your PC goes back to normal and Battle.net works as usual.
- Don't run the Battle.net Diablo III at the same time as EliteLevelD3.

Live session recording (optional, off unless you turn it on)
- Settings (gear) > "Record my live sessions (to help EliteLevelD3)". When you start the LIVE game from the
launcher, only the Diablo III game-server connection is recorded (not your Battle.net login, not other
traffic, no keystrokes or screenshots) and sent to the EliteLevelD3 server under a nickname you choose.
"What is recorded?" in Settings shows the details.
- It needs Npcap (free): https://npcap.com - install it with its default options, then restart the launcher.

Mods (optional)
- The Mods button (top right) lists the mods in the "mods" folder inside your game folder. The launcher
brings one example, "Loading screen test", switched off. Switch a mod on and press Play: the launcher
applies it to a copy of the game next to your game folder (<game folder>_Modded, on the same drive) and
starts that copy. Your game folder itself is never changed; "Restore original" deletes the copy.
- Mods > Browse lists the mods on the EliteLevelD3 download server. Install downloads one (its size and
SHA-256 are checked), puts it into your mods folder and switches it on; Update replaces an installed mod
with a newer version and keeps it on or off. Mods made for another game build are not installed.
The download server is set in Settings ("Download server (mods)").

Updates
- The launcher looks for a newer version on the download server each time it starts. When there is one, a box
at the bottom left shows it: Update now downloads it, checks it (size, SHA-256 and the EliteLevelD3 release
signature), puts it in place and restarts the launcher. Your settings are kept. Settings (gear) has
"Check for updates on start" and a "Check for updates" button.

What the launcher changes on your PC
- While the game runs, lines in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (marked "# EliteLevelD3 launcher")
send the Diablo III login to the EliteLevelD3 server and stop the game from patching. They are
removed when the game closes, and cleared the next time the launcher opens if the PC shut down mid-game.
The first run keeps a copy of your original file as hosts.elitelauncher.bak.
- The server's certificate (bnet.cer, "EliteLevelD3 local Battle.net") is added to Trusted Root.
It is a server-only certificate for the *.actual.battle.net login names and cannot sign anything else.
To remove it: run certlm.msc > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates, and delete
  "us.actual.battle.net" issued by "us.actual.battle.net".
